WELCOME!

Welcome to my Photography, Design, and Everything Else blog. I am a photographer for fun (meaning I don't know too much of what I am doing) and an aspiring graphic design artist. I have always been somewhat interested in photography but really started getting more into it after I had my son. Last Christmas I got my first Sony SLR Camera and the world of photography hasn't been the same since. I still don't know too much but the fact that I can now take some clear pictures works good enough for me. Upon following a few photography blogs I started to realize that even if you don't take a perfect photo, you can create one through photo editing. DUH! I started to become interested and learning new things through video tutorials. This re-sparked a interest I always had for graphic design. I dont have much time to go back to school right now so I have been self-teaching myself as much as I can. Since then I have begun to make flyers, business cards, and magazine ads for the store/dispensery 4ever20. I started this blog as a way to share some of my work with the world and so you can follow along on my learning journey to not only become a better photographer but graphic design artist as well. Along the way I will also be sharing whatever else I think I need to at the time. ENJOY!

After I edited the picture for Fix-It-Friday I got really inspired design another background. My friend Robin came to visit recently and I got some adorable shots of her daughter Izbella, which I decided to use for this project.

The BEFORE picture was just a picture I took of her while Robin was trying to burp her after a feeding. She kept looking at me with these cute faces so I had to catch the moment.

For the AFTER picture I first extracted Izabella away from the background including mommy's hand. I then needed to figure out what to do in place of mommy's hand. If I were really good I could make it as if she were wrapped in silk blanket or something but I'm not so I had to do what I could. I used a "grass" brush and just draged along over and over to make it look like she was wrapped in some sort of furry blanket and or something. Not as realistic as I would have liked but i'm still learning. I then used to "floral" brushes again to create the flowers and trees in the background. There was also a "leaf" brush I used as well. I then wrote the word LOVE on one side and used the "Chinese Symbols" brush to put the character for love. After I finished that I flattened the image and used the "Perfect Portrait" action I got from CoffeeShop which allowed me to soften Izabella's skin, bring out her eyes, and make the love and character stand out from the background.

I love the final product and I sent it to my friend for her to keep.
